Checking In

I was referred by Neroon, long suffering standing mate and writing partner, most recently on Elliquiy.

1.  Affirmation that you have read the rules.
I have, and I promise to play nice.

2.  Your age
36

3.  Male or Female
I am woman, hear me roar!

4.  What part of the world you're in.  (at least time zone, most of us are too poor to come stalk you)
UK, so GMT

5.  Which boards do you want access to
Both, please.  I'm curious like that.

6.  A writing sample.

The text was in ancient Greek and it took a while for the classroom drills of his schooldays to bear their fruit and allow him to read fluently.  The book was apparently a collection of myths, several well-known ones, but there was also one he had not heard before.  The text went somewhat like this:

The great god Zeus, father of gods and men, was wont to direct his attention towards fair mortal women, ever expanding his circle of offspring by them, to their own misfortune.

So it came to pass that the Lord of Olympus' eye was fixed on a young acolyte in a temple of Aphrodite, the great goddess that all, be they mortal or divine, will have to worship sooner or later.

The maiden Hermione willingly received the Thunder-Bearer's attention, for there is no woman who can spurn him and live, even if she be not in the service of the Cytherean.

And when her time came, Hermione was delivered of a daughter, who was welcomed with joy by the priestesses of the temple and named Philandra.

But the great goddess Hera, Zeus' divine spouse, was not happy for her august husband to bestow his seed upon other women, and did not want more demi-gods ascending Olympus.

Yet Philandra grew and thrived, and when she came of age, she joined the temple of Aphrodite together with her mother.

And she was fairest of all there, her divine nature overshadowing her, and many young men were drawn to worship for her sake.

And so divine Hera hated Philandra all the more, and would not leave her be, but she placed a curse on the maiden, taking away her physical form and letting her exist only as a disembodied spirit.

So ever since Philandra has existed beyond the reach of mortals and divinities alike, and she can only be summoned by a complex recitation delivered at midnight, on a night when Phoebe's chariot glows full.
