Title: Site Outages
Post by: GothicFires on November 06, 2007, 03:10:37 PM
Apparently the server we are on sucks. The number of times this site has been down when I have tried to access it has annoyed me to no end. So I will be changing servers soon. I don't know what it entails yet. I will give the information as I get it... but today I am just to busy at work to get the ball rolling.

Sorry for all the issues they should be resolved soon.

email from my web provider

There will be up to a 10 minute service outage at 11:45pm (EST,) New Years Eve.

The core routing/switching power feed needs to be modified.

We've had slowness of loading and an outright outage this morning. Apparently the server we are being hosted on is under an DDOS attack... which steve explained to me as 'someone getting a bunch of PCs to hit a specific server with the intent of using up all available bandwidth' so if you are experiencing difficulties, that is why.

This site is good for the next 2 years. Which makes me completely happy. I had thought i was only going to be able to pay for one year. But fortunately I was billed at the old rate so two years was only about 11 dollars more than one year at their new rates  ;D

Now for the outage

we are being moved from a 32 bit to a 64 bit server
